Finding a good front derailleur has become surprisingly difficult. As the industry shifts toward 1x drivetrains and ever-more-specialized components, dependable front derailleurs have become harder to find. After testing a pile of current options, this was the clear winner.
It may not be the prettiest derailleur on the market, but it shifts well, sets up easily, and works consistently with the wide-range doubles and triples we like to ride. It's our recommended match for all Silver cranks and the derailleur we use on our own bikes.
Designed around a 48.8mm chainline and officially rated for a 14-tooth capacity, we've successfully used it with 20-tooth jumps on triple cranksets without issue. Compatible with a wide range of drivetrains, it's technically a 9-speed derailleur but works well with 7-, 8-, and 10-speed systems, and likely 11-speed as well.
